Super Saver for the Win!

Nope. This is not an article about how you can save up or anything. It has nothing to do with your savings. This article is about horse racing – specifically the Kentucky derby!
The Kentucky Derby results are out and among the many horses who joined this race, the leading contender is none other than a horse named Super Saver. Beating out other contenders in this Grade 1 stakes race, Super Saver is, at present, the only three year old thoroughbred who can manage to become a Triple Crown winner – the likes of which has not happened or been seen since 1978 (care of another thoroughbred named Affirmed).
Gamblers who took Super Saver’s side on betting sites like Bodog.com and BetUS.com come out as winners and in gleeful celebration by now because the betting odds were not exactly on Super Saver’s favor, but this horse has won the Run for the Roses and has definitely saved the day; thus, giving these winners considerably good payouts.
Amongst the people who are probably now out celebrating, most assuredly, part of them are the people behind this win.
Skilled jockey, Calvin Borel would be the first name to mention. After all, what is a horse in a race without a jockey? This is actually the second straight Derby win for Borel. Not only that – as of today, Borel has become the first jockey ever to win three Kentucky Derbies within a span of four years.
Trainer, Todd Pletcher, is also worth mentioning. This is Pletcher’s first Kentucky Derby win. He actually had three other horses in the race, but Super Saver got him the victory.
This derby has been labeled as “The Most Exciting Two Minutes in Sports” or “The Fastest Two Minutes in Sports” and Kentucky Derby 2010 surely did deliver with the way Borel and Super Saver managed to get that blanket of roses draped over them.
Horse race lovers are sure to be keeping an eye out for Super Saver’s next race, because this Thoroughbred just might get recorded in sports books as the next Triple Crown Winner.
